Monjolinho (Köppen-Geiger-Climate: Cwa, Biome: Cerrado, Brazilian Savanna)
The Monjolinho River has a total length of 43 km and catchment size of 274km2. The study reaches are located in sub-catchments of the Monjolinho in a sand-fine sediment section of the streams. The site triplet encompasses a restored reach (Tijuco Preto stream), where in-stream wood and rock structures were added to increase channel complexity, the urban drainage system was revitalized and a linear park was created in 2003; an impacted reach (Mineirinho stream) with erosion and sedimentation issues due to an inadequate drainagem system, and finally a pristine control reach (Espraiado).
